Dear Old Wheats VP,
Welcome to a new era of the Old Wheats Vice Presidents with Richard Davies (Chunky) and Dave Beere (Beero) taking over the running. It would of course be remiss not to acknowledge once more the many years that Marion Hibbert has put into the running of the VPs and as a final thank you for that the club is to make Marion a VP Life member.
Dave and I are looking to modernise the running of the Vice Presidents while still maintaining the best traditions and values, all while providing and maximising support for both the Senior and Junior sections of the club. This first letter will be a bit longer than usual as we start that process so please take the time to read it fully.
The first change you will have noticed when you received this email, there is now a new email address to use for any correspondence which is oldwheatsvps@gmail.com please pass this on to any family or friends who might be interested in joining to get in touch with us.

There is no official amount as such, although we would like to suggest around £50 minimum, which includes the 2 Vice Presidents events but whatever people feel is appropriate and that they can afford in their individual situation to support the club and stay involved is more important. Please make payment as soon as possible and we would be grateful if you could let us know when it has been made so we know who to chase!
The Vice Presidents lunches are as follows, more information to follow nearer the time but they will follow the usual format so please put them in your diaries and make every effort to support the event, the players and get together with friends and clubmates. We have been reminded again this previous year how important it is to take these opportunities to get together:
8th November v Bedworth, followed by England v Fiji in the Autumn Internationals.
14th February v Keresley, followed by Scotland v England in the 6 nations.

You may have noticed from the 2 clubs mentioned for VPs lunches that despite the fantastic efforts of the 1st XV last season they were still unfortunately restructured into a new league, Counties 3 Midlands West (East). This does however present the opportunity to rekindle some old rivalries, like Keresley and Bedworth, while also taking on some different clubs and a number of the second teams of some higher ranked clubs, the full fixture list can be seen below.

Despite the change of league Steve Clarke has recommitted to another season as 1st XV coach as have all the players from last season who have also been joined by several exciting new recruits so the squad will be looking to push for promotion while still playing their expansive and enjoyable brand of rugby. The support on the touchline can make all the difference to the boys as they go through the season so we would encourage you to support when you can.
The mini and junior section continue to go from strength to strength on a Sunday morning supported by several current and former players as coaches and again we would encourage you to support them if the chance arises. The new U16s will be looking for a hat-trick of Warwickshire cups having defended their title last year, a very powerful and exciting team to watch as they hopefully progress through towards that.
